CNN.com Article: Why Funny Guys Get The Babes
Having a great sense of humor is advantageous off the comedy stage as well…
I was just reading an article at CNN.com entitled Why Funny Guys Get The Babes. It’s based on a research study by Kristofor McCarty, a researcher at Northumbria University in Newcastle, England.
Here’s the bottom line:
The study reveals that humor is a key factor in relationship development right from the beginning.
It reminded me of an interesting product that I was asked to review awhile back called:

It kind of caught me off guard because I had no idea at the time that there was even a market for such a product.
Still, curiosity got the best of me. I wondered what a non-comedian would reveal on the topic.
To make a long story short…
It was one of the best comedy development products that I had seen in recent years. So much so, I provided a lengthy testimonial for the product.
And I have to admit…
It’s one of those applications for comedy and humor I would have never thought of.
One of the things that I have been interested in for years is the application of comedy and humor in the realm of product promotion, which you certainly don’t hear much about.
But just ask any professional speaker who sells “back of the room” product at the end of their speech or presentation…
Invariably, the funniest speaker will sell the most back of the room product.
For comedians who merchandize from the stage…
The funnier your “bit” is about what you are selling, the more product you sell. A classic example is comedian Vic Dunlop who sold his “crazy eyeballs” during his act.
He went through various hilarious examples using them himself on stage, then offered them for sale at the end of his show for $3 a pair.
His cost: 25 cents a pair. He told me he bought a home from sales of those “crazy eyeballs” after each of his shows.
So, here’s the most important point I want to make…
There are applications for using your sense of humor off the comedy stage.
I would appreciate your comments below. I think I have repaired the comment section below so, don’t be shy!

Yes, funny guys get all the babes…and funny women get…gay guys.
Interesting article. I have to say that my sense of humour was responsible for me attracting my finace and whom I will be marrying at the end of the year.
Cheers
