When I posted my recorded interview with Ritch Shydner, host of the new stand-up comedy documentary I Am Comic, I never expected to get such a spirited response from the director Jordan Brady.
Jordan has provided a video response to Ritch Shydner’s interview comments about Comedy Evaluator Pro and that video is embedded in this article below.
For those who may not know, my software was discovered by filmmaker Jordan Brady during his online research for his film I Am Comic. I flew out to Hollywood in Sep 2009 for filming of my software in action for this new stand-up comedy documentary.
The software has been controversial since its release in 2003. The software continues to generate considerable rage and differences of opinions among those who do not understand how the software works or its applications.
I have provided article after article on this blog to try to help comedy professionals understand the power that Comedy Evaluator Pro can provide any comic when it comes to performance improvement.
I have even provided an article directed specifically towards the software’s most staunch critics because I know that once I Am Comic is made available for public consumption, the controversy will most likely continue.
Here’s the video response from Jordan Brady, director of I Am Comic to Ritch Shydner’s interview comments about Comedy Evaluator Pro:
All I know is this:
Comedy Evaluator Pro had more than enough credibility when all was said and done to make it into the stand-up comedy documentary I Am Comic.
When I am hired to consult with comedians, one of the first things I ask for is a video of their stand-up comedy performance. If they have a video, the very first thing I do is determine their PAR Score.
This tells me exactly where the comedian is at as far as stand-up comedy prowess is concerned and identifies the exact segments of their act that a performer should focus on to improve their laughs and improve their impact on stage.
As far as comedy clubs and booking entities go…
I would make a PAR Score determination first, followed by a secondary review for suitable content and showmanship. If they didn’t make the cut with their PAR Score, I would tell them that their PAR Score didn’t meet the minimum booking requirements.
Update: I Am Comic premiered on the Showtime cable network in June 2010.
If you have comments, please leave them below.
My special thanks goes out to Jordan Brady, director of the stand-up comedy documentary I Am Comic, for defending my software and taking the time to produce such a passionate video response. I’m blown away for sure!
Cheers,
